Sambalpuri Song bagged Akashvani Award

Mitrabhanu Gauntia’s musical feature ‘Pakhal Khurithi Mahara’ ( English : Poison in the Rice Bowl ) bagged the first prize at the Akashvani Annual Award-2010 in farm and home category. The Award ceremony was held on Friday in Delhi. Mitrabhanu Gauntia has been famous for “ Rangabati” Popular Song from years.

The song conveys “ There is residual poison in almost all the food, even in the rice bowl ”.

The Sambalpuri folk song creates awareness through the musical feature so as to reach across worldwide people and leave a lasting impression on them, said D Someya ( Producer & Director of the Song ). Music is given by Prafulla kumar Mitra.The song  is all about need for Second Green Revolution for quality food grains &  how the adverse effect of Chemical fertilizers & pesticides has affected the land & living beings.
