The engine of the running train caught fire in Sonepur district (Orissa ). The driver noticed the fire about 3:30 pm & stopped the train at a place between Cherupalli and Baidapalli, about 45 km from here under Khaliapali-Barpalli section of East Coast Railway. In next few moments, local people volunteered to fetch water from nearby water bodies & they tried to extinguish the fire. Even they also used fire extinguisher of the train. In next 20-30 minutes, fire brigade personnel from Rampur reached the spot. Till the time Everything had been controlled. Fire was prevented from spreading that's why No casualty or loss of property have been reported. A new engine from Bolangir came and the train continued its journey to Bhubaneswar after 2 hours of the incident.Efforts are on to ascertain the reason behind the incident as per East Coast Railway.
